Deep blue, ultra-fine: With a new model of the Lambda watch, the Glashütter Manufaktur sets another highlight in precious metal
Glashütte, October 2014. Elegance driven to the extreme: Lambda deep blue is a strikingly beautiful variant of the award-winning hand-held watch from NOMOS Glashütte. The new gold model, produced in the specialty workshop of the manufactory, combines extravagance with exquisite Glashütter precision watchmaking. Lambda's dark dial is clearly legible and contrasts perfectly with the case of 18 carat white gold: a fine frame for the fine hands and the gear reserve display, which describes a generous arc of 297 degrees.
Haute Horlogerie, precision watchmaking of the highest quality, also characterizes the interior of the men's watch of 42 millimeters in diameter. Every piece of gold is unique and hand-crafted - with the expertise that has made Glashütter Handwerk world-famous. Caliber DUW 1001 impresses with, for example, tail fins regulation, exclusive solar radiation, hand-engraved balance cock. The dedication of this watch is also evident in the polish of its six gold chelons. They are pressed small in the shape of a holundum and then rubbed over very fine abrasive paper. Bringing them to splendor can cost you a day - and a grain of dust can destroy the work. In order not to inadvertently blow them away, the watchmakers hold their breath. The result is also breathtaking, after weeks of fine work.
